Visit the Land of the Lakota and Crow Indians in South Dakota and Montana with Professional Photographer Christian Heeb

Tour through South Dakota und Montana with its spaceaous landscapes, animals and meet up with the Lakota people in their homes and at their Pow Wows.

Travel individually to Rapid City, South Dakota where we spend 4 nights at Charly Juchler’s Guesthouse and Tipi Camp in the Black Hills.

Photographing Lakota Artists and Dancers Jim Yellowhawk  and Terra Houska in full Traditional dress and horseback riding with Lakota Indians on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation are among some of the planned activities. Also included is a visit to Sonja Holy Eagle, a Lakota Artist, sunrise at the Custer State Parks Needle District and photographing the Bison herd in the Black Hills.

We will travel together in a Van for six more nights, first through the Black Hills to Spearfish Canyon, where the movie “Dances with wolves” was filmed and on through the Wyoming grasslands to Custers last stand at the Little Bighorn in Montana.

We will spend two days at the tipi capitol of the world at Crow Country famous Crow Fair Pow Wow. There will be a parade of Indian riders and great photo opportunities at the daily dances. Dancers from all over the US participate at Crow Fair.

After a visit to Fort Phil Kearny, the Medicine Wheel and a hike in the Bighorn Mountains along the Powder River Canyon and splendit sunset and sunrises at the Bighorn Canyon, we are heading back to the Black Hills in South Dakota.

There we head to Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse Monument and do a little hike to Harney Peak, where the legendary Lakota Medicineman Black Elk had his famous Vision.

A last highlight will be the participation in the Lakota Sweatlodge at Charly Juchlers Tipi Camp.
